Copy and extract SetupMixer.zip in an empty setup new folder. Create a new folder where you want, named (p.e. "Mixer01v1_3Demo") and copy in it the following files : Mixer01v1_3DEMO.exe metal04.JPG Copy the following files in C:/windows/System32 if you are a WinXP user or in C:/windows/System ( no system32!!!) if you use Win98-ME Knob32.OCX MIDIIO32.OCX VSlide32.OCX if the exe no run or have message runtime error you must copy also these files. No replace if they already exist . asycfilt.dll COMCAT.DLL MSSTDFMT.DLL msvbvm60.dll oleaut32.dll olepro32.dll SETUP 2.X VERSION ----------------- Extract zip folder and run setup.exe Common notes System requirement ------------------------------- S.O. Win 98-ME-XP Screen resolution 1024*768 characters dimension small minimum colors 65536 (16bit) application's bar hide or bottom Midi interface I/O any Yamaha 01v Digital Mixer (off course) This software was not tested on 01v96 and no run for 03D or other models Any problems using this software with others midi hardware is no our responsibility! Setup Mixer and PC Midi Interface --------------------------------- Connect midi out of your audioboard to midi in of Mixer01v, and midi out of Mixer01v to Midi in of audioboard. Others midi hardware can are connected to the thru midi of the mixer and must no use the midi channel n.1! For connect the masterkeyboard midi out to midi in of PC is necessary sconnect the mixer. In this case the software work regularly only in trasmission but not receive midi changes of the Mixer01v! Other solution is use a in/out/trhu box. This software use for connection the midi channel 1. In future release will be possible choice the midi channell. Is to prefer set mixer Yamaha as follow: -press the MIDI button (second on top to left) and deactivate ( off) ECHO. The software no relive ECHO on, because midi trasmission is alternative to midi reception. To start -------- Select (on top to left)your midi device for in and out (midioutport-midiinport). The program work, actually, only alternating the reception and trasmission o midi data . When effectuate changes on virtual midi interface you must select "Select out" ( appear red text"Transmit") , when operate on physical mixer (Yamaha 01v ) select "Select in" button ( appear yellow text "RECEIVE"). FEATURES MIDI CONTROL CHANGES (for demo limits see the end of this text) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The program manage via midi all controls contemplated by manual of Yamaha 01v: - first 16 channels faders, on/off buttons, panpot ( these finally visibile on channel strip ) - channels 17-24 I/O optional board - stereo master fader and relative on/off - 16 channels knobs for two send effect (on real mixer they move the motored faders) - 4 aux faders and buttons on/off - 4 bus faders and buttons on/off - 2 master effect send faders and buttons on/off - 2 effect return buttons and knobs ( of these are present also the knobs for pan routing . - Individual Recall of the 100 Memory scenes (only the filled one !) memorized on phisycal Mixer. - Name Editing of memory scenes and sending to mixer. All controls are bidirectional ( except the memory scenes) but alternating. FEATURES MIDI EXCLUSIVE SYSTEM MESSAGES (only upgrated version 2.0) only transmission (no received). ----------------------------------------- - All solo buttons - All select channels - Option I/O ( and its pages) - Home ( and its pages) - The complete aux-effect buttons routine with memory of normal/option/aux/effect channel's setting. - Parametric Equalizer for each selected channel with recalling of its library default NOTE ON PROGRAMMING ------------------------- The implementation of all features of a digital mixer is a work that need ability, time to spend and incentive. You do not surprise yourself if many features of the mixer no already exist in this software. Only the know-how for use the physical Mixer in all features ask many time. A complete functionally working program no can be paid with little Euro! --------------------------------------------- SEND MIDI MESSAGGE --------------------------------------------- To send midi message and control from PC to the mixer, is sufficient choice the midi device ( offcourse connected - PC midi-out in Mixer Midi-In) afterwards will be actived the green button "SELECT OUT" .After pressing it enable the sending of midi message from PC to Mixer, visualizing the text "TRANSMIT " and disabling the receiving . With button "OPTION I/O" is possible choice to work on channels 1-16 or on added optional board (17-24). The selection button I/O option ,only in 2.x version of the software, active related button on Mixer("OPTION I/O"). In the 1.3 version (also demo) the midi message are effectively sended and received by mixer, but for observe it you need to press the "OPTION I/O" button on phisycal Mixer Yamaha01v: faders and knobs will run on selected position! FADERS ------ Virtual faders are controlled in 4 manners: 1) dragging it with mouse 2) clicking on two presets position "0dB" and "-inf". ( On mouse over the labels appear a little hand) 3) with keyboard's keys arrows ( scroll up-down-left-right) Fine setting, with Page up, Page down for major run. 4) Key Home/End for maximum/minimum setting Stereo master has only one preset "-infinite". Furthermore is possible zero set all channel faders using function "All faders -inf" findable in menù "Utilities". The yamaha 01v motorized fader is a little noisy. It is a yamaha problem, no software cause. No damage risk for mixer offcourse! Selecting OPTION I/O (17-24) the faders, buttons and knobs 9-16 are deactivated. Note that the signes (nicks,notch,dint,dent...) on background of the faders are esactly calibrated with its related mixer faders. BUTTONS ------- Virtual buttons on/off work as on Mixer in succession on/off. You can move from one to other with TAB-key (forward) and SHIFT+TAB (backwards). One time selected the first , is sufficient hold pressed the key ENTER switch off all channels (1-16). Furthermore is possible switch on/off all channel buttons by use functions "All channels off" / "All channells on" findable in menù "Utilities". KNOBS ----- The balancing control(panning), the effect sending and equalizing management knobs is setting in similar way as the faders, but also with a single click on wanted value. Remember that dragging any knob in any program, fine setting is obtainable turning away the mouse from knob after press and hold it. Also in this case is been inserted ( because inexistent in physical mixer) comfortable presets for immediate achievement of Left,Center,Right position by clicking on L,C,R,m,M labels of Pan and Effect knobs. On mouse over the labels appear a little hand. To view balancing effect on Mixer you must press on it the button "PAN/ROUTING" first page. For send effect 1-2 there are only 2 positions minimum (m) and maximum (M). MEMORY SCENES ------------- The command "Recall" with related text window where write a number from 0 to 99 (In version 1.3 the scene "00" is recalling only insert "100") . This command is the analogue of the "Memory" button with related function recall and editing name . This function is activated by "Transmit" mode of midi out device. The scene, actually, is recalled on the mixer but no in the software! Is to prefer recall always the "00" scene at the beginning for "virtual sync" of software with mixer, and then effectuate free changes on mixer or software. IMPORTANT: DO NOT RECALL AN INEXISTENT SCENE OF THE MIXER, THAT IS AN EMPTY MEMORY: THE RESULT NO DAMAGE NOTHING BUT IS unpredictable ( no sense graphics in the display) SOLO ON/OFF (Command and buttons avaliable from VER.2.0) -------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Yamaha01v the solo on/off buttons received the same midi message for switch on or off, this imply the inevitable error of switch off a solo if it was previously switched on on the Mixer and switched off on software mixer. For this evenience is unavaliable the preset "All solo on/off". The midi implementation of the Mixer do not recognize ( in reception) the difference among channels 1-16 and 17-24 of optional board. Therefore is ( actually) impossible set via midi the solo of channel 1 and 17 at the same time. UTILITIES --------- - All channels off = switch off, on monitor and on mixer all buttons on/off - All channels on = switch on ... - All faders -inf. = set to zero all the channel faders and master one The Editing function of the Scene title is avaliable from version 2.0. PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER -------------------- Is the last implementation of our program and for graphics routines yet building. Actually you can see only the frequency changement of four frequency band (Hi-Himid-Lomid-Low). All commands transmit correctly the midi message to control the single channel EQ (now only 1-16) They can are activated by coloured buttons or ( after selected the channel and expanded the EQ window, pressing the"V" button on bottom to right) simply "touching" the knobs. Is possible recall all the library default of EQ by clicking the relative menu. --------------------------------------------- MIDI MESSAGE RECEPTION --------------------------------------------- To view on monitor's screen the changes made with the setting on Mixer, you must choice midi driver in and press the related button, visualizing the yellow text"RECEIVE". FADERS ------ In receive mode is possible move more faders at the same time. For see the changes in the channels 17-24 of option board you need to select the relative button (option in the 1.3) on software ( however the midi messages are received). BUTTONS ------- Also in this case are received by software more commands in the same time (discreet flux of MIDI protocol). KNOBS ----- See up, but is very uncomfortable operate with panning or send effects on real mixer! MIDI message box ---------------- You can view in realtime the midi message received in the related little windows(MEssage, Data1 e 2) Is useful for verify the presence and correct connection among hardware . Other use is possible, didactic, experimental with others midi machines. SOLO ON/OFF - EQ - Option I/O ecc. ---------------------------------- No yet implemented. ------------------------------------------- BACKGROUNDS ------------------------------------------- In the 1.3 version the background is settled (grain), while from 2.0 you can choice it among 5 different colours (the grain and 4 tone of grey ) by Menù "Visualize". COMING UPGRADES --------------- For registered users is expected the free upgrade of new versions. - Solo buttons received - Preset "0 AllFaders" - Save/open file of configurations. - Audio Level monitors - Sending receiving all libraries - Couple stereo channels - Recalling scene memory on both machines - PDF Manual DEMO LIMITS ------------ In the DEMO version of 1.3, the other limits, after the previous among , are the following: - Enabled in trasmission e reception only channels 1-2 (option in/out ch.17-18) and stereo Master( buttons on/off, faders, panpot, aux-send/receive, etc.) - Is possible transmit only the Memory 00 (n.100 ) the default no upwriting scene. - The 3 presets All channels on/off and all faders work only for channels 1-2. - At each midi message send by Mixer's faders and buttons to the software for different channels (3-16, 19-24) the program END and simply go out. To continue testing software is sufficient run again it. Good work! kASPARcENZ®
